Provide Your Online Customers With a Way to Pay

If you think about all the times you’ve bought something online, how many of the transactions you’ve completed involved sending in a check or money order? I recently found a terrific handmade jewelry store online. I spent time shopping and selecting what I wanted, only to find I needed to send in a check for them to process my order.

Not only would that take at least a week, but then the check had to clear – another week to ten days. I needed the item within three weeks to give as a gift. They could only guarantee I’d get my order within 4-6 weeks. I settled for a different gift, but I was disappointed and annoyed. The amount of my one order could have paid for them to get set up with a credit card processing company in full PCI Compliance. What on earth did they have to lose?

Who knows why e-commerce vendors neglect to engage a credit card payment processing company these days. It can be challenging for a merchant to figure out what they need, but a package deal can actually make the selection process fairly simple. While vendors do lose a portion of their sales to the credit card processor in fees, the extra volume of business they’ll do is almost guaranteed to make it worthwhile.
